Assuming the News Record printed accurate quotes in today's paper....if Steglitz called Dr. Rosen "idiotic" and "hypocritical", that is completely unprofessional & uncalled for. Granted, I did not see the meeting & the context of the quote, but it certainly sounds like Allan is entitled to apology from Steglitz for his slanderous comments.

While he is at it, perhaps Steglitz can finally apologize to Patrick Joyce and his family for Steglitz's libelous comments during the campaign 3 years ago.

When Steglitz asked Dr. Rosen the purpose of the resolution, Dr. Rosen expained that it was so that SOMACOM could film BOT meetings so that people at home could see them on cable. Steglitz responded that he has a dish and so do 50% of the people in S.O.and he could care less if people were able to see the BOT meetings on cable.

Sounds like typical Steglitz.

It's so comforting to think that his influence is shaping our town. He knows that Howard Dean has nada on him when it comes to embarrassing tantrums. Cameras and broadcasting might reach a broader citizenry. Puhlease!

Steglitz has demonstrated time and again his arrogance, his inflated ego, his control freakiness, his uncooth, his disdain for the S.O. residents, his contempt for women, his disrespect for his colleagues/trustees, his dirty politics, and his total ignorance in matters other than municipal bonds. Yet S.O. residents have voted time and again for Steglitz, even when we had other choices. What does this tell about us?

Mary - that the citizens of S.O. are uninformed voters - or worse, apathetic non-voters.

So, let's stop complaining. We got what we deserve.

Winnie-the-Pooh? That adorable, cuddly, loving, softspoken, little bear? Steglitz? No, Curb. Just the opposite! As a matter of fact there is nothing anywhere near Winnie-the-Pooh on South Orange's board of trustees.

Since I missed Monday's meeting, I saw the article in Thursday's News Record about Dr. Rosen's call for "civility" at the meetings. Kudos to Allen to trying to change the tone of the meetings.

Although, I found the biggest irony in the article that Steglitz & Theroux blamed the RESIDENTS. This coming from 2 people who waged a dirty campaign to get elected based on lies ("we'll save 20 acres of the quarry"), slander ("Patrick says let's build a park") and push polls.

Gee, what a surprise the residents don't have any respect for them!
