Are there any places around Maplewood that sell organic food? We're not total granola heads, but have been spoiled by the Park Slope Food Coop, where we get great organic produce, dairy, frozen dinners and meat (we know there is no coop in the area, which is a major bummer)...

Whole Foods in Milburn has organic foods.

There are coops a-plenty in this area, if you mean the kind of organic farms that enlist boxed shares of produce and delivers at a central location (i.e. someone's garage)for pick up.

If you;re interested in the one i'm in, let me know.

Also less expensive than Whole Foods is Trader Joe's on Columbia Tpk in Florham Park (Take South Orange Ave past Livingston Mall and keep going). They have a limited selection but it caters to those of us who are picky about our foods.

FYI...Fresh Fields and Whole Foods are the same place. FF changed their name to WF.

There is also a Trader Joes in Westfield, which is closer for some of us (esp. if you are near Springfield Ave.) The Westfield one also has wine and in general, I think, is bigger.

I used to have organic produce delivered from urbanorganics.com

There is an organic food coop here called Purple Dragon. Check out their website: purpledragon.com.

In addition to all the aforementioned (Whole Food in particular) - I've found that the Kings in Short Hills has a surprisingly large selection of organic foods (well, for a mainstream supermarket anyway.)
And you can get the rest of your shopping done there too.
