Anyone else hear that? I couldn't tell if it was fireworks or what, but there were several series of "explosions" heard.

Oh yeah? Considering Maplewood is the size of a peanut I'm surprised we all aren't seriously injured.

on one of the other threads, under the south orange topic, there is talk about 'explosions' being heard and felt as far down as the 'village' from the blasting in the quarry. could that be what what you heard?

Hmmm, possible I guess. I didn't even think about that. I live pretty far from the Quarry though, probably about three miles. It was after dark, do they blast at night?
It doesn't matter so much, I just wondered if anyone knew what it was. As long as I didn't hear sirens afterwards I assumed it was nothing serious.
Thank you for the information.

From what I heard the quarry has usually blasted around 2:30 to 3:30, 5:43 sounds a little late for them to be blasting. Possibly some kids with fireworks?

i forgot about the invisible fence, it keeps the elements of irvington and newark from crossing the maplewood borders.
