Who do you use for "Pet Emergencies" if something happens when your vet doesn't have office hours? Recommendations? |

There is an emergency vet hospital in Caldwell but we usually schlep the beast in question into the city to the Animal Medical Center over on the east side. |

We've used the one in Caldwell - kind caring people - even at 2 in the morning! |

We used the one in Caldwell too. They're expensive, but provided good care. |

For the sake of completeness, here is the info: Animal Emergency & Referral Center 647 Bloomfield Ave West Caldwell, NJ 07006 973-226-3282 They are expensive, but it's nice that they're there 24 hours every day. We used them once. Normally, our animals see Dr. Malampati in Maplewood. Tom Reingold the prissy-pants There is nothing

I've used them, too, and been satisfied, but I believe they asked me if the pet had been seen by my own vet within 30 days prior to taking it to them - they didn't want to be the first resort for a sick animal. (This was an animal in respiratory distress at the time) Perhaps it is different if it is a true emergency - broken bones, bleeding, that sort of thing. |
