My 6 1/2 year old son attended the Summit Y camp in the Watchung Reservation last summer and LOVED it. It is a terrific program with a number of different camp choices (there is a "Performing Arts" camp which was absolutely wonderful, a sports camp, a traditional camp, etc. We did a combination of all of these.) The camp is also very affordable, in contrast to the other local camps such as Oak Knoll, the JCC camp, etc. that we looked into last summer. It is also superior BY FAR to the local Y camp here in Maplewood (South Mountain YMCA), which we tried the year before.
Anyway, I hauled myself out of bed this year to get on line at 6:30am to register my son at the Y only to arrive and learn that the fabulous bus service that the camp offered is no longer available. (FYI, there were already 20+ people in line ahead of me at this hour -- confirmation I suppose that my family is not the only one who loves the camp!)
So, I'm wondering if there are any other Maplewood families who would be interested in carpooling with us.
