I just had breakfast at the Maplewood Diner not the Mapleleaf in town, the one on Springfield across from the bus depot just past Boyden and it was amazing! The omlette was incredible and the side of sausage wasn't those dinky breakfast links it was three of the large bangers-n-mash type and they were just terrific. I've been to the Mapleleaf in town and it was pretty lame and now after trying the Maplewood Diner, I'll probably never go back. I heartily recommend giving this place a try. It's also much better than that Greek diner down on Springfield toward Prospect. Be warned though, the decor is atrocious. It's got these huge mirrors all over the place with flower designs sandblasted into them and horrible faux marble tiles. It looks like a bad wedding reception type place but the food is tops. On a side note, there's a little diner in the Millburn Mall called Syd's or something that makes excellent burgers as well. Mangia!!! |

My family sure agrees with you. We go there for a late breakfast about twice a month. Very good, reasonable. Seems like a typical Greek/Italian run diner kind of place to me in terms of decor! Waitresses very helpful and efficient. Good club sandwiches etc., too. And, they have those jukeboxes at the table...Place doesn't have a chi-chi bone it's body, thank God...Good for with kids, and much better food than the Mapleleaf...parking, too. |

I've been eating at that same location for over fifty years. The building has changed, but the Maplewood Diner has always had good, and reasonably priced food. As for the Maple Leaf, we also eat there a couple times a week, and I’ve never had a bad meal there either. Hey, you can catch a bad meal anywhere. It’s just about timing... |

My wife and I have been eating at the Maplewood Diner for 24 years. In fact, we used to meet in the corner under the old wall fresco of the mediterranean before we were married to plan our June 14, 1980 wedding! Ed May |

wow. Had my last meal at the Maplewood Diner last fall when there were more cockroaches on the stainless steel wall across from the counter than there were mushrooms in my omelette (or were those mushrooms?) And I'm not picky. But... |
