We went to Tinga in Millburn on Saturday night. Yum. Great service and very attentive management. We'll definitely be back.

I'm a Tinga fan as well. But one question - do you tip there? If so, how much? I don't mind the whole ordering at the counter business, but it always has me stressed when we're finishing up and figuring out what to do.

We give about a 10% tip at Tinga. Love the order-at-the-counter method. But someone DOES serve us the food and fulfill requests for extra napkins, water, etc. And then they clear the table. So a tip is in order, although not as much as in a regular-type restaurant.

We always get delivery. They ask you for directions the first time. After that they just pull you up based on phone number. Very happy with what we have gotten there.

I haven't been to the one at Essex Green. I got takeout at the Tinga on Millburn Ave in Millburn.

We, like ashear, have been very happy with the take out. Our son is very particular about eating his soft tacos and they are very accomodating. Haven't had a bad experience yet.

The place in Essex Green is actually Desert Moon, I think. Same general concept. (We like it there very much also. Very friendly service.)

Nancy, they have burritos, enchiladas, tacos, and various sandwiches. It's delicious!

Desert Moon also serves liquor. (Beer, wine and margaritas).

We had brunch at Tinga on Sunday. They have delicious breakfast burritos and huevos rancheros. The Mexican-themed decor is very attractive.

It's near Samurai Sushi on Millburn Ave.

Sadly, Tinga has decided to cease deliveries to what they describe as "the Seton Hall" side of South Orange.
Take out is still yummy, tho.

My dairy-allergic daughter went to Tinga--Mexican food is often a good choice for her and she just asks for it without cheese. But at Tinga everything including the "creamy refried beans" seemed to have dairy products in it. She had to go next door for a bagel instead.

Definitely the best Burrito Palace I've been to out here. They're very accomodating- children's meny with non-Mexican items for the adventurous-palate challenged. Even Atkins-friendly items for those so inclined.
They also do a brunch which I have yet to try.
And I can walk there. What's not to like.

Great great place,

we went there multiple times, always great service and the manager bends over backwards to accomodate you. My 2 year old doughter loves Avocados, so we usually get her Gaucamole at Mexican restaurants. Tinga's is on the spicy side, she didn't like it. The manager went himself into the basement, got us a fresh Avocado and said it was on the house.

We also get delivery frequently. It is always quick and still hot. Last time our food was delivered to another house. We got a fresh order in no time, and no charge at all. A $50 value.

Their service is simply the best and the food is just great. My favorites:

Fish tacos.
BBQ Pork or Beer. Burritos or Tacos.

I'm getting hungry.

I recently ordered from Tinga after reading all the reccommendations on the message board. I got a chicken burritto which I enjoyed, thought it was a bit better than S.O.'s Toro Loco, but I thought it was a bit over priced.
