The previous owners of our home had started to refinish our basement but were transferred out of the area. They basically installed recessed lighting in about half of hte basement. I would like to continue this lighting into the other half, but am wondering if I am "allowed" to do so. Are permits required to do such work? I don't think the work is difficult, but I want to do this stuff the right way, and was wondering if it is feasible for homeowners to do their own electrical work? Thanks for any advice! -Rick |

Yes you can do the work your self. Yes permits are required. Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark; professionals built the Titanic. |

I agree with the above posting. Did the previous homeowner pull permits? If not, don't be surprised if they have you jump through hoops for the work "they did". Maybe even remove it. Good Luck. Michael K. Mc Kell
