mem,

Maybe it's maturity I was thinking about.

Can I ask you (and lumpy) another question? Some of both your posts were worded in ways that made me think you both believe I don't have a job or earn an income from working at a career, or cash a paycheck. Is that true?

What are you talking about? Can you give an example?

Harpo,
The attitude you have towards people in your posts sound like someone who is not around other people often.

mem,

LOL! I could certainly say the same about you! That really is funny. Should we carry on this inane sniping? My turn: Seems I talk to more people than my relatives!

But I'm afraid I do read alot.

Listen, you reminded me I need to go to the bank. Should give you some time to think up a good one. (Hint: My family doesn't have money.)

lumpy,

It was something you posted a few weeks ago and I can't remember the exact wording. In response to a post of mine, you were talking about having a job and paying taxes, but the way you phrased it seemed to be drawing a distinction between you and me. I honestly don't care what MOL posters think of me (goldplated butler's pantries, a too bookish life, too elevated a view, no sense of humor, etc. etc.) but I got curious enough about this one to ask.

The bank. And then a client!

I wasn't inferring anything about you. I was under the impression you are a free lance writer.

Oh -- but I've just got to add:

I wonder how many other MOL posters have performed stand up comedy in places like The Comedy Store and The Improv?

Problem is: taxes that force families out of their homes aren't funny.

Poor client. However I doubt you are as snotty and mean to clients as you are to me, though. Catty and jealous doesn't fly long in the business world, and most likely the reason you don't speak to your relatives is because they probably don't speak to you. There, now it's your rotten, mean little turn.

cjc, the difference between what some of us doing and what you're doing is that we are making proposals that may or may not go anywhere. You are merely criticizing us. Got any substantive suggestions for solving the tax problems?

Taxes didn't force my parents out harpy, they have plenty of money, common sense did. Your posts are really weird, is there some sort of crisis? BTW, I'm sure all of MOL is aware that you are out to get me, we're just wondering why.

Oh and harpy, when you think about how much you HATE my family and I, maybe try thinking about the fact that none of us ever did anything to you to cause such spite.

wow. I thought it was you, harpo, who did not see the difference. I am confused. You want to use a progressive state income tax. I was under the impression that you would want this as sole funding for each municipality, but then it seemed that you changed your tune to have some mix of income tax AND property tax to fund schools. That's when I said the horse of another color comment. So let's move on.

If it's the combo that you want, would you put a cap on per pupil spending? If not, then a town such as Millburn might receive the "new" average of, let's just say, $9500 per student from the state, but then they may vote to raise property taxes to give themselves a boost. But that wouldn't be fair to places like MSO and certainly not Newark who wouldn't be able to afford a boost via property taxes. What will be your criteria for the state as to how much each municipality should get?

Neither. It makes me uncomfortable. I don't know what it's based on, and I probably don't want to know.

lumpy,

I didn't realize until I was in the village that the response I wrote so fast came out backward. I meant to convey: Yes, I believe you and yes, I'm sort of a freelance writer (not I sort of believe you.)

And which hill resident are you talking about now? Still me?

mem,

You've become unhinged. Not a word you wrote about me is true. I don't intend to respond to anymore of this.
