Washing them in the washer in a net bag works, but sometimes the texture of their fur gets messed up. I've done both strategies. For the bodies, personally, I've opened a seam and restuffed; you can buy the necessary filling at craft/sewing stores. You can also usually buy the various kinds of button eyes. But, if you need more help, as ffof suggests, doll hospitals can usually do the job.
