Should I Pay This Bill ?

Author Message   Arnomation Citizen Username: Arnomation Post Number: 121 Registered: 7-2003 Posted on Thursday, February 12, 2004 - 12:06 pm:        I called a gutter service last month because we have a leader that goes down through a section of the roof and when it's as cold as it has been, it freezes and when it thaws it backs up and causes a leak in the basement. They said they'd have to wait until it got warmer before they could come out to look at it. Then today they showed up and cleaned out my gutters and left me a bill for a hundred dollars. The problem is that I didn't ask to have my gutters cleaned and I understand that services were rendered but not the ones I requested. If it was - the same thing happened to us - smaller repair. we did not pay it - since we did not ask for it. I never paid the bill and when I confronted Fred he didn't push for payment. Hmmm, I wonder why? I don't know who did your gutters, but if you do pay the bill make sure the gutters were actually cleaned. Were the gutters clean? When did you clean them last? Would leaves in the gutter lead to another stoppage in the leader?
