I'm looking to go antiquing on saturday. Any spots you would recommend in the 90 minute drive range? Is Chester too expensive?

Lamberville & Red Bank for day trips.
Recommend the Lambertville Station for lunch.
Red Bank - lots of places to eat

Haven't been to Chaster in a while.

As for expensive - depends - antique roadshow riuned many a bargain...

Lambertville is pretty expensive. If you go, and you like beer, visit the River Horse Brewery for $1 you get a sample of 4 brews -- also a good place to park. When we go we always walk over the bridge to New Hope, buy a bobblehead doll at Great Jones and have eaten twice at Triumphe Brewery. They have a nice menu, better food than Lambertville Sation and a jazz band on Sunday afternoons.

There's also a place called Scranberry Coop in Andover, NJ (nowhere near Lambertville) which is sort of an indoor flea market. Keeping with the beer theme, we have lunch at Krogh's in Sparta and then drive around the lake to Andover and buy some piece of junk at Scranberry Coop -- last time I got a real old heavy garden gnome, he's fabulous! I have never been to other antique stores in that area but have noticed a few.

Lambertville is a great day trip, but I don't trust some of the store owners. Perhaps better for people in the know. I don't know much, but I do know that one of the guys was trying to convince me something was antique when I've seen it in catalogs!

Also, there are a bunch of places in Barnegat, NJ, on Route 9. Take GSP down to about exit 70-something. Not big enough for a whole day trip, but if you were headed that way anyway.... takes about 90 minutes.

Check out Somervile. In the past few years, quite a few antique shops have opened in town. Several of them are quite large.

There is an historic village called Long Valley with many antique shops. Just drive to Chester then keep going.

Red Bank is a great day trip. Less than an hour down the GSP. When you get into Red Bank, ask for directions to the Antique Center. All the antique shops are located in the west side of town.

For lunch, head up to Broad St. and the streets running off of it. There are numerous restaurants.

If you have the time and are so inclined, drive out of Red Bank heading east through Rumson to the ocean. You can turn right after the bridge and drive through Sea Bright and Monmouth Beach along the ocean. It's a nice day.

That's so nice to hear my home town referred to as an "historic village". I'm from Long Valley and can tell you anything you need to know. Long Valley Antiques is a very nice shop (www.longvalleyantiques.com) and there's a few others around town, but none as substantial as this. For a quicky antique trip, my husband and I love Summit Antique Center.

Also, if you head out to PA, there's a few good and cheap places in Allentown. (Really all depends on what kind of anitques you are looking for.)
