This month’s Open House at the Durand-Hedden House offers visitors a delicious introduction to colonial cooking. The event, Loving Spoonful: 18th Century Recipes Cooked at the Open Hearth, will include a demonstration of the preparation of a full colonial meal, all cooked before your eyes by a costumed docent in the House’s massive 18th century fireplace. Come watch the fun and get free tasty recipes. There will also be a woodcarver demonstrating his craft. The event will take place on Sunday, February 15 from 1-4 pm at 523 Ridgewood Road, Maplewood. For information, call 973-763-7712.
