Lately I've seen a lot of times when loose is written instead of lose and vicey versey. Are these typos or do people not know the difference? lose - Honey? Please don't lose my keys. loose - No problem dear, I've put them in my pocket with my loose change. ditto for losing. And ps. loosing is not a word. Thank you in advance |

Loosing is in fact a word. It means to let something free. (It also has several other meanings, most obscure, and less used today; it can also be used to refer to substances with a laxative function.) |

I thought i'd get caught for that one since i didn't even bother to look it up!! But, i don't think i've read a thread yet that would necessitate the word "loosing" unless someone were to refer to loosing the deer population....oh wait, they already are loosed. |
