We're thinking about going ice skating tomorrow with our visiting neices and our toddler. Couple of questions about South Mountain Arena - do they have small training skates to rent? And, do they have cones out on the ice for the little ones? I know they have open skate from 10-12.

If its decent outside - where's the best place to skate outdoors?

I've taken my sub-three year old to South Mountain for ice skating lessons. They rent skates down to size 6/7 for $4, which is also the cost of admission to the ice. They cone off center ice for toddlers. Group lessons start at age 4 but you can get private lessons for any child big enough to fill the smallest size blades.
