Art is coming to Maplewood! You may have seen Art
displayed at many of the finer museums. You may
even have friends who have had Art appear in their
own homes. You've probably wondered "How can I
get Art in my house?"

Well, the answer is here. On Saturday, March 6th
at the Maplewood Club, the Newcomers Club of
South Orange and Maplewood will be having our
annual Art Auction. The auction will feature
quality, framed prints and limited edition
prints of well known artists, and some original
art. In addition, we will be auctioning products
donated by local merchants.

The cost is $10.00 per person which includes
hors d'ouevers and drinks. The preview is 7:00
with the auction starting at 8:00. It's always
a great time, and a good way to get pictures
for all those blank walls in your house.

Contact me back channel for tickets, or call
973 313-1830 or 973 222-6514 (voice mail).

Birdbrain, is the auction in the evening? I'll be on a plane coming back from Chicago in the late afternoon, but would love to come to the auction...

Oh, no, this is the third event to be scheduled for the evening of March 6th! The Community Coalition's auction is that evening at the Maplewood Women's Club, and the Adult School is presenting David Grant's one-man Mark Twain show at South Orange Middle School. Too much to do!!

Yes, the auction is in the evening. The preview starts at 7:00, the auction itself at 8:00. So that's an hour to look at art, sip wine, and mingle.

Oh, and major credit cards are accepted too.

Yeah, there's a lot going on that night. I think because it's one of the few weekends that falls between breaks, the spring Easter/Passover holidays, and then spring break. After that, everyone is thinking about the summer...

One way or the other though, there's plenty to do that weekend, and _everyone_ in the two towns should make at least one of these events a priority!

This is purely a cheesy attempt on my part to move this post nearer the top of the list!
