Does anyone know of someone or someplace that repairs microwave ovens? The microwave will not heat and I believe its because of a bad magnatron tube.

I'm guessing you mean an over-the-range microwave? Otherwise, I would think the repair would cost as much as buying a new one, wouldn't it?

We just got a new Kenmore 1200 watt at Sears last weekend for $59. Best microwave we've ever owned. (This is a standard countertop model.)

I'm with C.Monty.... unless its an over the range, even consumer reports said that repairing will generally cost more than replacing ... unless the unit is really newish (less than 2 years) in which case you have some warranty ...

Correct, it is an over-the-range microwave.

Try Valley Household 973-992-8126. They're very good and honest. They'll charge you about $70 to come out and look at it, but it's credited against the cost of any repair. If you think you know what the problem is they can probably give you an idea of price over the phone. I don't think they service GE.
