A full room de-humidifier which used to handle the basement easily is running but not "collecting" any water from an obviously damp environment. The fan keeps running, and the on-off-humidity level switch just turns around completely without any stop point.

Any suggestions on where to bring this?

You need a small appliance repair shop ... don't know of one .. hmmmmm ... wondering on age ... if the unit is more than 5 or 6 years old its likely going to cost as much as replacing (sadly).
