The boss is springing for lunch this Friday & we've decided on Thai. Can anyone recommend a place in West Orange/Livingston/Roseland? Montclair is a second choice location as parking is a pain in the heinie & we have to take two cars.

I've mentioned this one before - Brookside Thai. In Bloomfield on Broad Street. It's wonderful. It's inexpensive. Parking at meters on the street, and there are probably a couple of lots nearby.

Bangkok Kitchen on Bloomfield Ave in West Caldwell is excellent. Good food and reasonable prices, too.
If I remember correctly there is on street parking, but I'm sure there are some lots around.

IMHO, Thai Chef is one of the best Thai places in the area. Khun Thai in Millburn is a close second. (The chef there used to work at Thai Chef.)

Parking around Thai Chef can be hairy. But if you're willing to walk a little, you should be able to find parking a couple blocks south of Bloomfield Ave.

Someone in the group "doesn't like" anything but meat & potatoes. I don't like meat & am not eating potatoes these days. So we have to find a place that everyone will like.

But, since the place in W. Caldwell is about 5 minutes from the office, another person and I are going to try that soon. In the meantime, we're gonna end up at some generic, diner-type place. Everyone but the one person wanted the Thai....

I don't think that person can be happy in a Thai restaurant.

Oh well. You can hardly expect bliss at an outing with cow-orkers.

I hope I'm not too late to save a Thai Chef travesty -- too foo foo...more French than Thai... Tuptim on Bloomfield in Montclair is worth a walk from a distance... On another note, for those who REALLY want to travel for some great Thai (w/o a plane), try Queens, and then Hoboken. Hoboken has a fantastic dive called, Sri Thai. (BYOB) Enjoy!
