I just received a 45 second computerized call/poll concerning the "upcoming elections". They started with questions like (am I registered dem or rep), then they asked questions concerning same sex marriages. BUT, they worded them so that it would be easy to say you were against them if you weren't careful. THEN, they threw in the question "would you vote for taxpayer money being used to pay for prisoners' sex change operations?" Were they perhaps associating gay marriage with something so off the wall as taxpayers paying for sex changes of prisoners?? At the end of the call it stated that this was sponsored by the marriage coalition! %&$@#!! http://tinyurl.com/2jkh2 Push polling A type of pseudo-research whose intention is to change opinions (usually on voting) rather than measure them. For example "When did you first become aware that Candidate A is the son of a murderer?"

Steglitz/Theroux used a similar technique in the election for South Orange Bd of Trustees 3 years ago. At the height of the battle to save the quarry from development, we were given ludicrous questions such as "Does Steglitz's fight for Open Space make you more less or likely to vote for him" This was from a guy who did everything he could to slow the opposition to the development. It's a disgraceful technique |

The subject was "I just got push polled, and I'm not happy!" My response & Dave's were EXACTLY on the same subject. Perhaps you don't want us reminding people of the slimy tactics used by Steglitz/Theroux. Well, get over it. |

Johnny, that's not the point. It lasted only 45 seconds, and it wasn't until the last 2 seconds that I found out who sponsored the "poll". So Johnny..if you don't like something you just ignore it...hang up...wait for others to do something about it? Sorry, not me. |
