I am thinking of buying a property (probably apartments) in the area, with the intention of renting to tennants. Does anyone have any experience in doing this?. How easy is it to get tennants in this area, what is the rental market like?. What has been your experience?.

Any advice good or bad would be welcome.

I am not an expert but be warned that Maplewood has a very tough Rent Control Law. Also we are starting a new inspection program to make sure buildings are up to code and don't contain illegal units.
