My dentist -- who I like a great deal and have recommended here before -- wants to take some rather drastic action with respect to extracting teeth and building partial dentures for me. Since this is a permanent, major move, I want a second opinion. If you have experience with a dentist who is especially good with dentures, I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Thank you.

Whenever I hear "extracting" I cringe. Definitely get a second opinion. Dentists today try to save teeth. I go to Dr. David Silverstrom in Livingston, and have been for twenty years. He is the best dentist around. He's skillful and uses the latest innovative techniques. He is also extremely expensive, but I figure my teeth are worth it.

Thank you both. Lizziecat, I agree about cringing (actually, crying, in my case) at the thought of extractions. But your words "extremely expensive" also put me off. Maybe I'll give him a call and see what insurance he takes. I don't want to spend the rest of my life looking at gaps in my teeth and regretting not pursuing a second opinion.

Anyone else have any recommendations?
