I am planning a bachelor party for a friend, and one of the things he mentioned doing was going on a day trip and doing some deep sea fishing...

Anyway, of all the people going at this point, none of us have ever been. Is this a good idea to attempt such a feat? The party will be in AC, and no doubt there are charters or day trips down there. Has anyone ever been? Anything anyone can tell me would help, I am sure!

Thanks,
Rick

I’ve fished out of AC a few times. I really don’t know a thing about fishing and the crew kind of gets everything set up and just hands me the pole. I believe this is the boat we go on http://www.atlanticstarcharters.com. Sorry I can’t comment on the pricing but the casino usually takes care of it.

Just a suggestion. When you book the rooms, book them all together and tell the casino you’re interested in going fishing. The Borgata is really hurting some of the casinos on the boardwalk and the hosts are being very generous to groups of guys that want to come down to party.

If you are going to be in A/C I would suggest you contact Capt. Jeremy from the Stalker. He can put together a great trip for you based upon the season and what fish are running at the time.

the group has never been deep sea fishing? Getting seasick(especially on the way out to sea) was perhaps the single worst experience of my life. you have to wait out the entire trip. have fun in a/c stay out of the sea. my opinion only from my last fish adventure.

If you are susceptible to motion sickness, it can really ruin a fishing trip. Dramamine and the wristbands helped my wife out ALOT when we have been Marlin fishing. Best plan for it and not be surprised. Depending on the time of year you go out, you might find some Blue and White Marlin that far north, not to mention Tuna.

Check out this site for some info..

Thanks...sea sickness is a definite concern...i appreciate all your guys help (and any future replies).

Its not my first desire, but the bachelor is really interested in doing this, so I am trying to gather as much research as I can about it.

Do most of these charters allow you to bring beer/or supply themselves? Seems like that might be a case by case basis.

You can bring beer but no hard stuff on the Atlantic Star.

Ruck1977 . Deep Sea fishing out of AC can mean two things . One ,your going offshore {60 + miles}to go Tuna , Sword, or Marlin fishing , this takes place in mid August on . Two ,your going blue or fluke fishing {12 miles } June on . I have lots of experience @ both . Take my advice, you & your boys would have a lot more fun fishing on the floor of The Bogata. I'm not writing this to be a wise guy I just know what I'm talking about.

jet...please expand (if you don't mind). we are talking late may here...and yes, I wasn't looking at tuna or marlin, but more like the 12-20 miles off shore variety...
