My husband and I are fairly new to Maplewood and are trying to figure out what to do with our son who will enter 1st grade in the fall. We are zoned for Tuscan and have heard that we may opt for Seth Boyden. We have a neighbor who has a child in second grade at St. Joseph. I went to visit Tuscan and quite frankly was not that impressed. I am scheduled to visit the other two schools soon but would love to hear from any and all who have experiences at any of these schools. Ultimately I know that I have to decide and that one person's bad experience does not a bad school make but I am a firm believer in having as much info as possible. Thanks in advance.

You should definitely take advantage of opportunities to visit. There are many on this board who have posted experiences with both Tuscan and Seth Boyden. I don't recall too much discussion about St. Joseph's, however. If you do keyword searches with the names of the schools, you will probably come up with lots of feedback.

We have had our children at both public schools - first Tuscan, later (and still) Seth Boyden, and have been happy with both experiences. It's been four years since we were at Tuscan though, so I can't really speak for it now. We are happy with both our kids' experiences at Seth Boyden.

Good luck making your decision.
