Mr. Bookgal's eye doctor is finally retiring and we need to find someone new and preferably closer than the one the old eye doctor recommended (okay, so Mr. Bookgal has had the same eye doctor since he was 9 and that was a very, very long time ago). We need someone really good which is more important than which plans they accept.
Thanks.

Do you need an eye surgeon, ie an opthamologist, or a reliable eye doctor, ie optometrist, not a medical doctor but a skilled practitoner in examining and prescribing lenses? If the latter will do, Dr. Sally Bregman is a superb optometrist and is located right here in Maplewood! 973-763-5525 Good luck!

Thanks. We would only consider an opthamologist

Dr. Donald Greenfield. He lives in Maplewood and works on Millburn Avenue in Millburn.

Very good, very senior. Has hospital affiliation etc. etc. etc.

We like Dr. David Hoffman in Summit. He is extremely thorough. 908-273-9500.

I also have seen Dr. Greenfield, very nice man. I only went for a minor eye problem, so its hard to really tell how good he is, but was happy with the visit.

My whole family uses Dr. Greenfield, and we're happy with him. He's been able to treat a difficult vision problem (not a disease or surgical type of problem) quite well.
