We need to fence the backyard of our new place. It's a bit complicated as we have a shared driveway. And ideas about fence-experts -- contractors, stores, whoever?

One thing you should do is call the town. If you're in South Orange, there are all sorts of rules (perhaps they're the same for Maplewood). Generally, the fence has to be 10 feet in from your property line, but there are no doubt special rules for a shared driveway situation.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought the 10 ft rule in S. Orange applied only to corner properties (because the line of vision for drivers could be impaired). It would seem unreasonable to make other properties, especially those with small dimentions, "cut" 30 feet off their yard (the back & two sides) before installing a fence.
