Mayor Fred Profeta and SO Village President Bill Calabrese will be speaking at the Newcomers Club meeting tonight. This a great chance to meet each of them, hear what they have to say about our two towns, and ask questions in an informal setting.

We start gathering around 7:45 P.M. Meetings are at Morrow Methodist Church on Ridgewood Rd. in Maplewood. We are meeting in McDonald Hall, the basement room next to the parking lot. Look for the pineapple.

Hope to see you there!

-President, Newcomers Club of South Orange and Maplewood

Technically, the Newcomers club is a non-political club. The leaders of our towns are not coming to campaign for office, but to talk to people about the towns and answer questions from people in the comunity, particularly people new to the community.

Yeah, is a politician ever _not_ campaigning? Probably not. There are lots of other good venues for meeting the board of ed candidates too.

Maybe someone could ask both of them if they would start officiating at samesex marriages in the 2 towns? If any community ought to do that, it's South Orange and Maplewood~!
