Is there normally a month-long delay between a Board of Education meeting and its telecast on SOMACOM TV?

All part of the Superintendent's plan to control information.

TC meetings are live, why can't BOE meetings be live?

Are the meetings edited before broadcast?

Indeed, the fact that we have no live broadcasts of these meetings is really no longer tolerable. In this respect, the current Board has not done what it promised in making the Board's business more accessible to a wider public (while in other respects, eg. the Budget 101 sessions, it has).

Village Hall and Town Hall are wired for direct cable feed. The Board of Ed meeting room is not. Also, BOE and SO Trustee meetings are sometimes on the same nights (Mondays), so they couldn't both air live.

I can ask, but I'd be very surprised if the BOE tapes are edited before airing. Who would have the time to do that?

John D:
Wasn't one of this Board's goals to Improve Communication?

Give that goal a grade of F!

The highly regarded High School AV program is physically located what 100 or so feet from the BOE meeting place.

Kathy, they don't have to edit, because by the time the meeting is televised the topics are not relevant and No one is interested.

Effectively, the BOE and the Administration are masters of censorship.

This is another way we are being shortchanged.

Maybe, one or more of the new BOE candidates will call for live telecasts, if elected.
