The 4 March News-Record carried a blurb about 2 Irvington juviniles arrested near CHS for an assult on 24 Feb. It did not say whether they were CHS students. But, if so, can they be charged for the additional crime of Theft by Deception/Theft of Services (over $5,000 - a felony)? Who can bring such charges - the BOE, Maplewood TC, a citizen?

They were not CHS students.

The CHS principal, Mrs. Pollack, told the HSA board that the attackers were from Irvington and that the reason they were able to be on hand when CHS was dismissed was that Irvington HS gets out at 2:45 and CHS not until 3:05.

Does anyone know why Irvington students are attacking CHS? In the past, there was little, if any, interaction between those student groups.

It can't bode well for the town or the high school.
