I'd like to recommend my son's guitar teacher, Ian Smit, a teacher in a local school district who would like to expand the number of students he teaches privately. My son has been taking lessons with him for nearly two years and it has been great. I have pasted his ad below. Please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions.

Goal: To help students develop an individualized playing style by providing alternative chord voicings, scales, sounds, and musicology that will contribute to personal
musical growth. Students of all ages welcome.

Method: Individualized guitar lessons, $40/hour, will be provided at the Laboratory in Maplewood, NJ. Instruction will consist of an hour lesson that is student-centered.
Each student will be required to bring in compositions, chord progressions, soloing ideas, sound effects, etc. that they are working with to be analyzed, and refined
through re-harmonization and sound manipulation possibilities to be realized, and developed by the student.

Each student is unique and musical progression develops at a personal rate. Inspiration is cyclical between student, instructor and the music.

Also available for band consultations, $25/per participant, may be conducted at either the Laboratory, or at the ensemble's place of rehearsal.

Materials: Amps, sound effect equipment, P.A. system (on an as needed basis) and 4 track cassette recordings are provided at the Laboratory. For ensemble consultation
at the Laboratory, small drum kit, and bass amp will need to be provided by the student.
