I just finished doing some work in our kitchen & bathroom and I have some bags of plaster and some wood, I don't have enough to order a dumptster. If you are doing work on your place and don't intend to fill your dumptster, I would be glad to share the cost.
Thanks
Marshall

Drive around you will find plenty and probably most would just let you toss it in. I would but ours is long gone.

Thanks Sylad,
It would be easier for me if I didn't have to drive around.

Marshall,

I admire you for offering to share the expense with someone.

Over the summer we had to fix our sidewalk and had to have a dumpster to discard the old concrete. The dumpster rental, although several hundred dollars, was a "special" price because it would be concrete only. They warned us over and over that the price would go up drastically (well more than double) if they found anything but concrete in there.

My husband and I had to wade through the dumpster on a few ocassions to remove trash our neighbors took it upon themselves to toss in. I had 3 relatively sleepless nights afraid someone would start dumping old appliances in there that we would then have to figure out how to discard. I couldn't wait to get that darn thing out of here.

Kudos for being a thoughtful neighbor!

Sylad,

Your suggestions is not legal.

Plaster is considered constrution materials. If someone were to dump that in the dumpster at my business, I would have to pay a surcharge of 2 to 3 times the weekly rate that I pay.

If a homeowner is caught dumping in a business dumpster, and several have, the fines would be steep.

Consider that when you suggest such a thing.

Dumpster cams are common.

Call Donna @ South Orange disposal and get a 10 yarder dropped. It'll be in the $300.00 range all said and done.

Probably shouldn't admit this, but I have put up to around 40 bags of similar debris on bulk pickup day and it was taken.

Also, Mountain Disposal will haul this sort of thing away for a reasonable fee, probably less than the very reasonable SO Disposal fee mentioned by Mike.

mwsilva ----Relax...I was talking about a construction dumpster. When we had our constuction dumster we let our neighors toss stuff in.

And I did not say just to go and dump it. I said that most people would probably just let you toss your stuff in with their stuff.

You got a dumpster cam, or a security cam that can see your dumster?

When you rent the dumpster you can sometimes rent the camera & VCR with it. All I've ever seen is guys climbing in them to remove copper wire.

If you call Waste Management, they'll send a pickup truck to your place and haul it all away for $80.

I congraulate anyone who offers to pay to share a dumpster - or asked permission to drop in some stuff!
We had a dumpster recently which our neighbors or maybe drive-bys felt it was OK to fill up. Wouldn't have minded a spackle bucket or two, but sinks and toilet bowls?
More than likely, if asked, we might have said OK . It's the clandestine sneak drop in the night which irks!

Thank you all for your help, I called waste management, their smalest container is 10 yards (that is 5 yards more than I need). They gave me a price of $700.00. I also inquired if there were any landfill places. I have a pick up truck so transporting it is not a problem. There is one, 640 Amboy Elizabeth N.J. 908 629 9270 they are open on Saturdays from 7am to 1 pm. they charge 90.00 a ton if you have less than a ton it is still 90.00 . They only take checks.

Call J&R services 908-686-5229. They will come and pick up your debris with their dump truck. I haven't used them recently but I don't recall their fees to be too expensive. I do know their rates for dumpsters are much less than WM.
