Last night I noticed that there was an outragous amount of cars in the area of Valley street and 1st(Which shows business is good)...Cars were all up and down into the lots and up toward Academy, many double parked and parked on corners and crosswalks. I think that the new bar Pappillon 25(spelling?), and has been a hit that they are having parking issues spill up from the lots...What about turning the old garage accross the street into a public lot w/ meters or sell it to get a ratable up and going, Im sure the reastuarant/wine emporium would be interested in that site for a parking lot for their business, giving customers closer parking options. And I did notice some of the cars had tickets so the SOPD probably noticed this too. I like enforcement, but you don't want to drive people away from a return visit. |

i do not think that there should be parking on both sides of the street on valley from third to SOA. it is very difficult to get through when vehicles are parked on both sides of the street which is now frequent pretty much from afternoon to i would say 10 on most weeknights and a bit later on thursday/fri/sat nights. i noticed SOPD was enforcing too which is excellent. my big problem that that whole area is the NJ transit bus. it stops for no one to get on, no one to get off, wedges itself in and out of traffic and causes a danger. plus i do not see why there needs to be a bus stop at this intersection or in this strectch of valley being that there is a stop less the one block away at sloan. i dunno, is anyone else having this problem with buses in this area? |
