I've noticed a lot of peeling and flaking on the overhang in front of our front door, none of the rest of the house needs painting (was painted three years ago), Suggestions who I can get to sand and repaingt our front porch area? |

What about DIY? Barring that, exteriors aren't that hard to work on, you sound like you have a small one day job, and I'd think that anyone could do a good job on it. Sears WeatherBeater Ultra is "purported" (I have not used it in person) to be "idiot-proof" and from what I've read, very forgiving of even bad prep .. and the finish is warranted for life (obviously sears isn't going to pay for a re-paint, but they'll give you more paint if the original paint fails. In some of the literature I have seen it comments that you don't even have to 'pre-clean' the surfaces ... something about the formulation (it has polyurethane in it) causes it to find the good surface and stick to it ... so it sticks through the dirt) I am admittedly dubious of this claim, but having used sears paints on a number of jobs would not be surprised if it worked as stated.
