Is there a limit to how much you can leave out for the Bulk Pick-up in the beginning of april. I have just cleaned out my basement and garage and would like to know if I need to call someone to take the stuff away. I am afraid i may have too much to leave on the curb. |

In Maplewood I think you can put out as much as you want. Monty Burns -- the Maplewood dates were in the most recent Maplewood Township mailing titled "Talking Trash". |

CMonty - South Orange stopped doing bulk pick-ups years ago. They offer container days, where you can deliver your stuff to the dump - check your Gaslight newsletter for dates. |

cmontyburns - the schedule for maplewood is also online at the Town's Website below. As algebra said, they send out mailings in the spring and fall with the schedule as well, but this is my third pickup since i've lived here, and i have yet to ever receive one. http://www.twp.maplewood.nj.us/ And seeker - sorry, no idea if there's a limit. But if i were you, i'd put it all out, then deal with it if they don't pick it up later. |

There's no limit to the quantity of stuff in Maplewood - but are not supposed to take construction materials. It's quite amazing how quickly they scoop up all of the stuff and heave it into the truck. It's also amazing how much less there is in the morning after everyone has sorted through your trash looking for treasures! |

Those mailings aren't addressed to individuals. If your neighbor's getting it and you're not, you should mention it to your mail carrier, who should be delivering one to each household on his or her route. |

Usually, it's my whole block that doesn't get them. I complained last time, and the PO seemed very concerned. But it didn't seem to change things this time. |

If you want to get rid of something that is on the list of things you can't put out (like construction materials), put it out anyway. Either someone else will take it before morning, or the guys "officially" picking it up will (I don't think the people making the rules convey it to the people who actually do the pick up -- either that, or they aren't listening....) |
