I'm a first-time homebuyer in MW and thanks to MOL I've found great info about home inspectors -- I'm curious if anyone has had specific experience with Michael del Grecco at Accurate Inspections www.accurateinspections.com? I hope some of you can share what you thought of his service.
Also, included with the cost of the inspection is the Home Inspection Book which he refers to as the "bible" of the industry and a valuable reference for the future. Does anyone have experience with this guide or with this method of home inspection? Is it a useful tool?
Thanks again in advance.

We used Mike for both of our home inspections and were very pleased. The first house we almost purchased had numerous problems which we would have never found ourselves and would have ended up costing almost as much as the house to repair. The house we ended up buying was virtually problem free (and has remained so). The bible to which he is referring is a rather large binder which lists all aspects of the home inspection and what he discovered during the inspection. If you would like to take a look at mine, please send me an email (attila4r@netscape.net)

We also used Mike for 2 home inspections. One house that we didn't end up buying in part due to the problems found by Mike and the cost to maintain the home over time. The other house, we purchased. It had only a few problems, but Mike found them which enabled us to negotiate for repair payment by the former owners.

We thought he was a little arrogant, but knowledgable, thorough & worth the money. The info binder provides a lot of helpful info that is used as an ongoing reference to well maintain your home. Also, we found his price to be reasonable. Thunbs up!
