Hi! Can anyone suggest a good bicycle shop? I need some general maintainence done on my bike. I called Millburn Bike Shop on Main St, the cost would be $100. Is this reasonable? I heard that the Vauxhall Bike Shop has been sold and currently is not open. Thanks for your help!

Best shops in the area are High Gear in Stirling (off rte 78) and Cycle Craft in Parsippany (on rte 46, just off 280). Both are about 20 minutes away and have excellent service centers.

great guys, really helpful. they charge $50 for a tuneup, I think.

(I could loan you a rack that goes on the back of your car if you have a problem transporting your bike there)

It's impossible to say if $100 is reasonable without knowing what repairs they are recommending. It is conceivable that bike repairs would be worth that or more.

I was a bike mechanic many years ago, but I don't know which good bike shops are in our area.

Thanks for the info! The work is just a regular tune-up, including air in the tires, grease the chain, etc. Also, thanxs Ril! I have rack that I used on a previous car. I think it will work.

I've taken a bike in to the Millburn Bike Shop. They fixed it on the spot and charged nothing. (granted, it was a minor repair) I also know they have donated their time to refurbish recycled bikes to give to families who otherwise couldn't afford them. If I'm not mistaken, they also donated helmets. So while I can't answer your question about the $100 charge, I will say I'm happy to give Millburn Bike Shop my business after I've witnessed them giving back to the community.

I second Victory. If you buy your bike from them the tune ups are free.

I HATE the Millburn bike shop. They were snooty, arrogant and rude to me. Never again.

There is a bike shop in Summit. I saw it when I drove from Millburn/Springfield into downtown Summit. On left hand side. I know nothing about it, except it exists and there are not many bike shops around.
