OK - time to mine the "Renovation Resource Network":

We need cabinet fixtures, light fixtures, sinks, plumbing fixtures, etc. Know about Expo (), The Bath Connection, Renovation Hardware & the place we are getting our cabinets (Kitchen Expo, Rt. 22). Union Lighting ()Any other really creative suggestions?

We are planning a trip to browse The Bowery. Anyone have a suggestion for specific stores?

Gregory Lighting in the city.
Huge selection - though I've had varying reports
from friends on lead times.

We got all our electrical supplies and a number of
lighting fixtures at Feltzenberg Brothers at 2191 Morris Avenue. All the fixtures are 50% off...all the time.

We had success at Capitol Lighting on Route 10 in East Hanover. Good selection, available stock, and (mostly) reasonable prices.

I second Rejuvination. We love our front hall fixture. Rejuvination offers "period" fixtures, so you can get one which looks like it could be original to your home. (Turn of the Century, arts & crafts, Victorian, etc.) They custom make the fixtures to the length, width, finish and shade style you want. They'll even send you samples of the finishes. We also got our outdoor light fixtures from them. They aren't cheap, but are not outlandish for the quality you get. Customer service was really good too.

If you want some energy efficient fluted glass ceiling fixtures at a subsidized price of 4 bucks (worth 60 bucks) than go to Siperstein Paints on Rt. 22 near the Flagship.

Wow-
thanks everyone. We went to Feltzenberg on Friday. They are quite inexpensive. There is one fixture we love in Rejuvination, but it may be too big for the space.

MP - thanks for all the links! What a great website!

So, who has input/advice on kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks (or, as I learned from MP's website, "lavatories") and toliets? There are so many out there!

Greenetree,

We've just gone through what I'm guessing is a similar process to you.
We were dissatisfied with Home Depot products, but not looking to break the bank.

Take a look at these websites, as they give you an amazing range of products - and more importantly their prices.
You can than either purchase online, or be an informed customer when you shop (write down the model numbers).

http://www.homecenter.com
or
http://shop.toohome.com

There are other similar sites.

TOTO makes a great toilet with a wide price range.
Blanco and Elkay make good kithcen sinks - prices vary. Franke makes AMAZING sinks, but the price reflects that...
For faucets, well, it depends what you want to spend. Dornbracht makes some of the most expensive faucets available, though in my opinion they are stunning. Unfortunately, even with my architect discount, still not in the budget. Newport Brass makes knock-offs.
None of these faucets come close to Home Depot prices - so be prepared.

Go to Plumbing Supply stores (either in NY or NJ)
and they will either carry these items or can order them for you.)

Sometimes prices on the net are better - you just have to be willing to wait for the product.

Gateway has been doing all of our work for us and
have been truly helpful.

Have fun!
