I heard that Celebrated Food has switched hands once again (back to the original owners?). Has anyone eaten there recently? Food and service still the same? |

We like Celebrated. They changed hands last summer (or the summer before??) I always enjoy my meal, you can get something reasonably priced and good and I think their service is very nice. They are certianly not as good as Jocelyn's but I like their food better than American Fare (which is also VERY good just a bit rich for me). In fact, we'll be at Celebrated for a early dinner on Saturday. |

We are planning to be a Celebrated on Saturday too! Algebra2-Will you be the mustached man with glasses and horns? We are glad to hear Chris and Ellen (Founders & Owners) are back.

We were just there last Saturday night--the food was excellent as was the service. CF is a great BYOB restaurant--reservations are tough to get so they must be doing something right. |

i am harboring resentment against cf - they owed me a small refund ($60) for a catering gig last spring and i never got it...left a few messages but these were not returned...now i don't even know who the owners are/if they are the same people...i should probably just forget about it but even so i probably won't patronize them cuz i'll always be stewing about the $60 |

I wouldn't just forget it. A debt is a commitment. Hold them to it. You may have to walk in there to get their attention. It's pretty poor that they don't return phone calls! Tom Reingold the prissy-pants There is nothing

Lamojo & (the usually more creatively balanced) Tom- Let's think this one through a little bit better . . .that's like going up to your new neighbor and saying they owe you a new snowshovel because the prior owner never returned it!! Maybe a better approach would be to speak directly to the owners, explain the situation and maybe suggest that they could compromise via a lunch credit or something. You not patronizing because of a debt with the prior owners, seems a little unfair. There must be a creative compromise out there. Keep in mind that they are trying to get the business back on its feet. Understanding both sides of an issue is the first step in finding a happy compromise! |

I read lamojo wrong. I thought he (she?) was saying that IF the owner is the same, he harbors that resentment. If the owner is the same, my recommendation stands as it is. If the owner is new, then happyman's advice is good. In theory, the new owner should honor the old owner's commitments, but it may not work that way in practice. Actually, happyman, the present owners were the ones who owned last spring. The temporary change took place from last summer until a few weeks ago. |

You are right, that was the timeframe...It could be either group. If it was Chris & Ellen, I think just explaining the situation may get it resolved. Just my thoughts.... |

Without knowing any specifics, I would assume that if you buy a business you assume it's assets and liabilities, unless that debt was a personal one rather than a business one. |
