Anyone recall the fight last May at the annual SHU BAR CRAWL where members of the basketball team got into a fight outside of Cryans on First street. If I recall correctly James Cryan, owner/manager was struck in the face by one of SHU's b-ballers. SHU IS JUST CONSTANTLY GIVING BACK TO THIS COMMUNITY. The team beat Arizon last night, Im out of town for work...HOW WAS THURSDAY NIGHT in the VIllage? |

Last night after the game the students were running up and down South Orange Ave. It was crazy. I think that they wanted to burn down a building but they could not find one. They went to SOPAC, and only found dirt, then went to the Bifus site and found more dirt. Finally with nothing to distroy they gave up and went back to campus. It is a good thing that construction has not started yet. Yes I am joking, to my knowledge nothing bad happened last night. |

the students could have celebrated under the temporary bubble erected over the tennis courts, but the SHU girls tennis team was probably monopolizing that for the evening. |

However, the bubble hasn't been decided on because the town and SHU cannot come to terms over the style of the bubble and how to make it interact with our communities arcitecture...OH WAIT...THATS DUGGOUTS...WELL THEY COULD HAVE CELEBRATED IN THE DUGGOUTS...IF THEY WERE CONSTRUCTED, and not being used by SHU SOFTBALL. |

I don't think SHU brings a lot of Actual "CRIME"...I think it offers the Village a lot more status offenses and petty offenses (such as: Assualts, fights, underage drinking, noise, disturbances). Additionally it brings more minor thefts and property crimes. I really think it gives actual criminals targets for crime...but for actual violent acts committed by students, I admit they are few and far between or are flying under the radar. You have to assume that there is more going on then what is reported on a daily basis or gets in the news blotter. Also, Im sure the police and SHU track the incidents, because SHU is notorious for holding students accountable for any interaction they have with SOPD...I have to applaud SHU administration on that fact.
