Looking to recommend a moderately priced (truly moderate) motel/hotel for someone to stay in the area for a few days. Came across the Turtle Back Inn in W. Orange and want to know if anyone has had anyone stay there or knows anything about it. Also, if there are other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !! |

We stayed there 5 years ago for one night. It was very basic but seemed clean with standard amenities (cable, mini fridge) |

It is very basic, but it's clean and convenient. |

We've stayed there and my parents have. I think it's fine. |

Yes, it works for a night or two. We use it for guests/in-laws who prefer not to be woken by our baby -- although the walls are thin there, and noises are abound... Another good option a bit farther away is the West Minster Inn on Route 10, just past Borders/Circuit City. They're new, and even gave us a discount since we had never stayed there - more elegant, but still priced well. |

My brother and his family stayed at The Courtyard Marriot in West Orange (next to The Manor), and they really liked it. It's pretty easy to get to and isn't that far. |

Have you considered the Wilshire Grand Hotel on Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange? They've just reopened after a complete renovation. Beautiful inside, complimentary breakfast, and many hotel amentities that would be lacking at Turtle Brook Inn. Worth the phone call or stop-by. |

I think the Marriott in WO next to the Manor is a Residence Inn, not a Courtyard. |

I will also check out what is either the courtyard Marriott or the Residence Inn in W. Orange - Thanks LilLB. Gibbsgirl... thanks for recommendation, but the Wilshire is a bit more money than they want to spend....
