The Memorial Day Parade is scheduled to be held on May 31, 2004 this year and we are now accepting requests from groups to march.
If you have a scout troop, youth group, neighborhood association, community group, religious organization, performing arts group, marching band, or the like and your group would like to be included in the order of march, please send me a private line so I can get the details to you. Preferred spots in the order of march will go to those responding early.
All current or former members of the armed forces who will be in town that day and would like to participate in the parade either in the color guard or in the rank and file should also contact me by private line as soon as possible.
If you are interested in watching the parade and would like further information, please check the community calendar here on MOL. I will be posting all of the details shortly.

Ed: SOMBI has been added to the parade order of march. We will see you on May 31, 2004 at 8:30 am at the Student Parking Lot on West Parker Avenue.
Contact information for the parade has now been posted on the MOL calendar.
Groups interested in marching may either respond to this thread or follow contact instructions posted on the calendar page. Written invitations will be sent shortly to the groups who marched last time (two years ago since last year's parade had be cancelled due to extremely heavy rainfall). If you are a member of such a group and you know your contact person has changed, please send me a private line with the name, address, and phone number and/or e-mail of the correct person to contact.
If you have any questions regarding the parade, please post them here and I will try to answer them. |

The parade is going to be great. Thus far we have confirmation from groups ranging from the Columbia High School Marching Band to the Kiwanis Duck and her entourage. If your group would like to march this year, and you haven't gotten in touch with me or Bernie yet, please get back to us soonest with the name of your organization and the estimated number of marchers. |
