I can't believe that I didn't make a point of watching this show until a couple of weeks ago. It's hysterical.

Sben

You can't believe that you didn't make a point of watching this show until a couple of weeks ago. It's hysterical, you say. Well, curb you enthusiasm, and tell me what the heck show you are talking about? Do you refer to the Maplewood TC Meetings? The Bored of Ed Meetings? The County Committee Meeting? Or something you are getting from your intergalactic spy dish?

i can't believe you didn't either.
wait till you see some of the reruns.
the episode about the blind date, carwash, etc.
and the episode about the dodger game, etc.--
two of the best this season.

I loved the season finale... and the one of the funniest was the Ben Stiller Birthday Party. Larry David poked him in the eye with a wooden party skewer, refused to sing Happy Birthday and was the only one not to bring Ben a BD gift!

To the uninformed and clueless, CYE is on after the Sopranos on HBO.
LD wrote THE SEINFELD show with Jerry Seinfeld in the 90's... He's HILARIOUS!

I thought the season finale was brilliant. I also caught the one with the two "survivors" and just saw one from a couple of years ago with a doll's head, a missing bathroom lock and some other goofy stuff.

I'm very aware of who Larry David is. When the show first came on I saw an episode and thought it was boring.

Not anymore.

The Dodgers episode had me crying. I was also hysterical at the season finale. But, my 27 y/o male coworker & I had a different take on things. He thought the best part was the hot sauce scene in the restaurant. I was rolling at the end, watching the reenactment of the end of "The Producers" (Brooks & Bancroft). When I mentioned that to my coworker, he said "oh, we never saw that. Tix are too hard to get". I said "rent the movie". He replied "it was a movie"?

When I first watched it, I couldn't look at Larry without seeing Constanza. I miss Wanda, tho. She needs to be on more. I, too, just started getting into it more this year.

If you have digital cable, the more recent episodes are On Demand.

So, Sbenois,
When are you going to post flattering pictures of the cast?

We love it too (though I must say that while it's funny it's also somehow stressful!)
If you have comcast cable/digital on demand, you can watch a bunch of back episodes from the season.

I loved the scene in this week's Sopranos where Junior was watching tv and Curb Your Enthusiasm was on and he thought Larry David was him and that Jeff was Big Pussy! The resemblance was a little strange!

Oh My God! Doula! That is exactly how I feel. I always say that I'm feeling a little anxious about 10 minutes in...because of the pickle that Larry always gets into.

BTW, my favorite episode is from last season (which is out on DVD now). It involved misspelling the word "aunt" in an obituary. The first letter was accidentally replaced to spell a really nasty word. Sick sick sick!

the "aunt" episode had me crying! The episodes with Ted Danson and the shirt and the blood were great, Larry asking the widow where her dead husband bought the shirt, etc.

Neat thing about "Curb" is that the guy who plays Larry's manager (Jeff Garlin in real life) real life wife is the casting agent and most of the guest stars are real-life friends with the regulars - I think that's one reason why it works being mainly improvised.

I like it when you can tell the actors are on the verge of cracking up.

So they're that mundane and self-centered in real life?

I've watched a few episodes. There are definitely some funny bits, but Larry David is so annoying, I turned off the last one in the middle and I don't care if I never find out how it ended.
