Does anyone else have tiny white particles in their water. We do and it is blocking the filters in all our plumbing equipment. Has anyone heard of this or a reason for it? |

From time to time stuff gets loose in the pipes. If the water company is working on the pipes upstream from you, you will see the stuff flushing down the pipes. A simple whole house filter for large particle material would solve the problem. Pretty cheap, not hard to install and you stop this problem and others such as sand, stones, rust flakes and what not. How old is your water heater? We had the same problem. A few years ago there was a problem with water heater dip tubes disintegrating. The dip tube is the internal fill tube that brings cold water down to the bottom of the tank. The manufacturer of the tubes supplied many water heater companies. Another symptom, is that you seem to run out of hot water sooner. You can call the water heater company and see if your serial number falls within that time frame. There was a class action suit regarding the tubes but I think it's been settled. If it is the tube that is causing the problem my advice is to replace the whole heater. It's almost impossible to get that particulate matter out of the heater. |

During the last month or two, this problem of white particles in the water has become a real pain. I have been clearing the filters on the sinks & taking apart the shower heads to clear the particles. |
