Hello,

Any basketball fans out there have any thoughts on how to get tickets to this Thursday night game at the Meadowlands (Pitt vs. Oklahoma)? Has any one had any experience going to the stadium and picking up tickets for the NCAA tournament? The prices offered by brokers on the Web seem ridiculous. Any advice (or tickets) would be appreciated....

Go panthers!

I never buy from brokers and always manage to find tickets for games. In the parking lot of the continental arena there are three grass strips that separate the parking lot areas (between track and arena); this is where you need to go. Make sure you give yourself about 1 hour to get tix. If you buy early the tickets are good but expensive, the longer you wait the cheaper they will be.

A few tips
Make sure you’re dealing with only 1 guy, if there are two guys, one of then got screwed with a bad ticket and he’s trying to recuperate money and needs a friend to help out.

Cut a map of the arena out of the phone book so you can tell the guy that the seats suck by showing him the map.

If you’re going for two seats they can be in the same row but not next to each other, this will save you a ton of money and no one will have a problem moving to help you get your seats together.

The farther you are from the arena the better the price.

If you don’t like the tickets that one guy has tell him to meet you in a few minutes with better seats, they’re all working together.

If you don’t like the seats, price, or guy leave, there are always guys stuck with tickets when a game starts, so you may miss tip off but you get good seats.

*** Risky move**** buy two cheap seats anyplace in the arena, go center court hand the usher $20 and ask what he’s got open. (I’ve only used this at football games)

Good luck.

I forgot to add that you need to find a tailgate party and ask to look at their tickets because you’re planning on buying and want to make sure you don’t get screwed. They will gladly show you the tix so you can look at the hologram, colors, weight, etc.
