now that the true premier catholic college football team of america has yet again been established, what is up with nbc not interviewing jim o'brien after the game and instead getting denial and self promotion from the losing coach who just gagged in a major way and who also gave no credit to bc at all. pompous nd a-holes showing their true colors. redsox gets to torture all the nd subway irish on the job on monday, oh joy- can't wait. |

Redsox - At last, something we can agree on. ND came out in the Green jerseys, but all that did was really provoke the boys in the Maroon and Gold. For Boston, for Boston, We sing our proud refrain. For Boston, for Boston, 'Tis Wisdom's earthly fane. For here men are men, And their hearts are true, And the towers on the Heights Reach to Heaven's own blue. For Boston, for Boston, 'Til the echoes ring again. |

When I lived in Boston I worked at the Boston College bookstore and was there the first year that BC really did it to ND. The last play of the game was a field goal which gave BC a 41-39 victory. We had orders out for T-Shirts and my all time favorite was on the front it said........God is Good and on the back it said.... So Was Gordon's Kick This was over the other big seller that said.. Hey Lou Next time Light Two. } |

Most of my family has the BC connection. I root for ND on the days that they don't play BC. The 1993 game is a classic, up there with the Miami game "Flutie Hail Mary" pass in 1984. This one had less of the magic, but I'll take it. |

Cheer, cheer for ol` Notre Dame Wake up the echos cheering her name Send a volley of cheers on high Shake down the thunder from the sky What though the odds be great or small Old Notre Dame will win over all While her loyal sons are marching onward to vic-tory. |

The only good thing to come out of BC was Howard Stern. |

Howard went to school down comm ave @ BU, which disgracefully dumped its football program a few years back. the best thing to come out of BC was the sugar bowl team featuring charlie o'rourke. |

I'm a BC grad '96. Redsox, I agree with you. (Who would have thunk I'd agree with a Red Sox fan!) Who wants to hear from the losing coach! The sideline reporter even tried to blame the seven fumbles on the green jerseys being a more slippery material than the blue jerseys. I can't stand bandwagon Notre Dumb fans. Seeing David Gordon's kick from The Mods in '93 and then sticking it to them at home in '94 were great! Saturday was just as good! Go BC! Eagles on the Warpath...ooh...aah! |

Maybe NBC should have shown BC players ripping up the turf and throwing it in ND players faces....OR....they could have shown the BC contingent damaging the locker rooms in hallowed Notre Dame Stadium.....BC's program is defined by 3 games where they luckily defeat real college football teams....When BC is regularly playing for something more than 4th or 5th place in the Big East then maybe people will want to hear from their stupid coach. Also, when BC signs its own contract with a television network (some crappy cable channel in New England doesn't count) then maybe someone will air what the BC coach has to say after his team improves its record to a mighty 5-3....Insight.com Bowl - Here we come! I have never been treated worse as a visiting ND fan than I was at BC in 94 and 98....the envy that BC's community has for ND is unbelievable....you didn't get in, get over it! |

lamojo.. hmmmmm. seems to me that your rant has a little to do with injured pride. If I am not mistaken ND has had some pretty lousy seasons of late and yet, GASP, went to bowl games. Yes they have their own major network deal and dont think for a minute that NBC was regretting it BIG TIME when ND went 5-7 in 99 or 7-6 in 97 (how does that record warrant a bowl appearance?)When an upstart defeats an oldtimer there is always that bile, but as someone who worked in the BC bookstore, both during the 93 and 94 seasons, I can say without fear of overstating that the ND fans who came to the bookstore before the game were merely rude, the ones who came after the game were criminal. Its about sports folks. Exciting on the field action. No they didnt interview the BC coach. Yes the argument that the jerseys were more slippery is laughable but these are kids. Playing a game. Period. As for the "envy that BC's community has for ND" I would say it is much less than the arrogance of ND's community in general |

Lamojo....relax. You're dealing with a bunch of folks who deep down understand that they'll always be second fiddle to Notre Dame. Let them enjoy their day in the sun. Everyone, themselves included, know it will soon be over. |

You have to be a consideration before a chance. BC of course was never either of these. |

bc should bestow the priviledge to nd (as a replacement for holy cross) to be part of a football rivalry. but maybe not, because nd supporters are not worthy, and who wants them hanging around chestnut hill every other year? |

Right...much more preferable to have all the distinguished scholars playing football in the Big East to hang around there. |

BC beat a completely overmatched Toledo Team in the Motor City Bowl 51-25 scoring TD's on its first six possesions. |
