Timmeh - I thought maybe Satan or Redsox might jump to my defense - I also thought about being a wise ass and saying "the devil made me do it" - I even reflected after your posting that maybe I offended some religious people by fooling around with the "number of the beast" in which I apologize. But, Timmeh, consider this, I post under my real name, and take responsibility for what I post. Most of the time you simply barge into threads with "Timmeh!!!!!!!!!!!" which I personally find annoying. Posting "Timmeh .....!" exhibits no originality. My posts may sometimes be zany, but at least I try not to engage in personal attacks (not to say you do). And (Cfa notwithstanding)some people actually enjoy reading my posts (sometimes). By the way, I used to find Sbenois pretty annoying, but his postings have continuously improved. Even Stefano is funny (at times). So my good friend Timmeh, I will post more thoughfully in the future, and hope you will also, whoever you are. | ||

... I've put this off long enough. Hi, I'm Nohero. Hello, Nohero. And, I am now officially a thousand-poster on SO/MOL. (Applause) I suppose I can rationalize this addiction by pointing out that this is a unique place in the vast wasteland which is the internet. All of the things about this site which people complain about, can be found in any online discussion area. So many, many of the good things here (and, there are a lot of those) can be attributed to the fact that this message board overlaps a very real, and very special community. The most fascinating collection of people, insights, ideas and opinions can be found here. I guess I enjoy posting in this virtual community, because I really love living in the "real" community it is a part of. However, if I ever get near 2000 posts, I definitely need to brush off that twelve-step program ... | ||
