I, for one, resolve never to post a mean, sarcastic post on MOL (at least through the holiday season). Boy, have some of the posters gotten nasty. Lighten up, folks , everybody get together try and love one another right now.

But personally, besides the lose weight, exercise more old saws, I really, really want to see 2003 as the year I grew. Learn, study, create, expand..the new me for "03.

Fixing something myself at least once this year instead of paying someone else to do it.

Paying someone else to do it instead of fixing it myself. Or rather, staring at the problem in hopes that it will fix itself.

I'd like to get into selling indulgences. And do the best darn job I can, just because I can.

I'd like to buy a few indulgences from patty, just because I'm already convinced that she'll do a great job.

*don't know what I'll do with them, though*

Jem-

Indulgences are like umbrellas. It's good to have a few around the house or in the car, "Just in case."

Cheers to you and your significant other!

Jem and Wharfrat: Let's decide on the theory that they'll be used for the unforgivable. Not for Gentiles only.

Top nominees for said saving grace:

1) Michael Jackson for his balcony scene

2) Those people who put up the Maplewood Money Magazine banner in town and left all those holes in it

3) Sbenois for not having holes in his

4) Trent Lott for NOT being Michael Jackson's danglee

5) Mariah Carey for "Glitter." (OK, that's old)

6) Christopher Lee's agent for not getting him ANY lines in THE TWO TOWERS and just letting him play four square around his parapet watching those tree guys

7) ??????????

Patty-

While not on the level of public exposure or national significance, I nominate-

7) The person who painted every square inch of the chestnut trim in our house battleship gray.

Excusez-mois?

Incidentally, I am at this moment preparing a luscious Dickensian Christmas dinner including but not limited to a flaming plum pudding, and Sbenois is not invited, with or without the stake of holly through his heart.

Patty is a George Harrison fan. Anyone with such obvious good taste can NOT be a looney.

Well, it's at times like these when you find out who your friends are, -ish.

And lay off George. He looms large in my legend.

(btw, is Sbenois cute?)
