You think so? I remember the miracle of the Meadowlands. Of course, for me it's a happy memory. |

but the Giants really sucked then. this was a bigger collapse in a bigger game. The Vikings game in '98 was almost as bad with the botched coverages and the muffed onside kick. |

Big time gag in San Fran. Kind of fitting that their season was finished by bad snaps. |

and stupidity - he should have spiked the ball - then with one second left the Giants kick the winning field goal on 4th down. |

Is that the same Marilyn that asked me with 60 seconds to go if it was snowing out?!? "Not in SF" I said. She also asked me to look at something in the paper. "After the game I said". And a third thing which she had already forgotten when the game was over. Ed May |

NFL rules specifically prohibit anyone other than the QB from spiking the ball, and even they must only do it from receiving a snap from under center. In other words a shotgun snap spike is not allowed. |

Well, that just makes it worse! Who oversees the officials? I saw the 49ers go offsides at least three times without a flag. There should be some form of retribution for bad calling by the referees. |

He could still have tossed a quick incomplete pass. |
