thats George Harrison, not Berkeley. George Harrison would have been 60 tomorrow (although a story has it that he considered today to be his birthdate, not the 25th, which is why I wrote this now). He was born at 12:10 AM and his mother would call him shortly after midnight while she was alive regardless of where he was in the world. He is my favorite Beatle (isnt there supposed to be a pop psych test that says who and how you are based on your favorite Beatle?..not sure what it means to like George best). Alot of his music has true meaning today, and not just the line "I feel the ice is slowly melting"...so here goes, my tribute to GH amd some lyrics to ponder... We were talking - abouy the space between us all And the people - who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion Never glimpse of truth - then its far too late - when they pass away We were talking - about the love we could share - when we find it To try our best to hold it there - with our love With our love - we could save the world - if they only knew Try to realize its all within yourself - noone else can make you change And to see youre really only very small, and life flows on within you and without you We were talking - about the love thats gone so cold and the people, Who gain the world and lose their soul - then you may find, Peace of mind is waiting there And the time will come when you see we're all one, and life flows on within and without you. -Within You, Without You Isnt it a pity Now isnt it a shame How we break each other's hearts And cause each other pain How we take each other's love Without thinking anymore Forgetting to give back Isnt it a pity Some things take so long But how do I explain When not too many people Can see we're all the same And because of all their tears Their eyes cant hope to see The beauty that surrounds them Isnt it a pity Forgetting to give back Isnt it a pity Forgetting to give back Isnt it a pity -Isnt It a Pity |

I did not know that! Funny, until my mother passed recently, I use to call her at 1:06 AM every year on my birthday to thank her for her troubles and pains. It must be a George thing. |

Thanks for posting about George. I've been thinking about his upcoming birthday and I will try to celebrate rather than mourn, but it won't be easy. |

George's wonderfully dark sense of humor would have him making a joke about his demise, though. So in that spirit, I'll change the sad face from above to this: cheers, George. |

"I look at the world and I notice its turning..while my guitar gently weeps; With every mistake we must surely be learning...while my guitar gently weeps." Had the very good fortune to see and hear that being performed live at the stroke of midnight last night. |
