This has been some winter. I was thinking about having insulation blown into parts of my house(above garage, basement, etc.). Has anybody had any experiences (positive or negative) with such insulation? Did it make the house warmer and/or reduce heating bills? Also any recommendations on reliable vendors to do the work?

Do a search also. There have been discussion threads on this topic both recently and a year or so ago. So there may be some posts in the Attic as well as in current topics. If you don't find anything post again (probably better in Home Fixit per the above suggestion) and I'll try to find a link.
